BCA – Arts Guild Insert
For this insert the featured book focused on the anatomy of the human body. The image we used for the cover was simply displaying the front and back view of a leg, for reference, the image is certainly arresting, we thought it looked a little weird when taken out out context like this, and so would get noticed.

BCA – Arts Guild Posters
This set of posters was designed for a series of adverts and inserts for the Arts Guild Magazine. The challenge was to present familiar images by famous artists in a different way. It was amazing how easily the images matched with each other and lined up, e.g. in the picture on the right, look at how the black line marking the girl’s hair on the Matisse painting matches up to the veil on Mona Lisa. Also the girl from The Vermeer painting still looks like the same girl when juxtaposed with the Matisse painting…

BCA – Contains Graphic Material
This insert was placed in various magazines in the U.K. such as Artists and Illustrators. We were poking fun at the sections in magazines which don’t allow you to see in unless you buy it first. We had the insert glued together in the same way to increase the idea that something ‘graphic’ was contained inside, which of course it was…
Arts Guild – Shake Up Advert
One of the biggest problems when creating advertisements such as the type needed for BCA is the sheer amount of information on display. The headline and copy must work hard not just to tell the reader about the titles on offer, but must also impart the obligations of the new member once they’ve signed up. Of course, the advert must also encourage the reader to become a member by filling in the form and sending it off in the mail… then of course you must show all the titles the reader can choose from. This time we decided literally to shake things up a bit…
Arts Guild – Make an Exhibition
This Book Club advert ran in several U.K. Sunday newspaper supplements. As with each advert for the BCA, the challenge was to find new ways to stand out while still showing all the necessary components. Here we were inspired after a trip to the Tate Modern. Some of you may recognise the superb ‘method’ acting museum attendant!
